The Carlyle Group, based in Washington D.C., has total assets under management of USD 201 billion. As part of an investment programme, residential properties were acquired over a period of two years. The investment programme increasingly targeted residential properties in Berlin with development potential in the affordable segment.
From 2017 to 2019, REELAB acted as a technical partner for the Carlyle Group as part of the acquisition process.
Following the technical due diligence, REELAB provided construction management services for the acquired properties for the years 2018 to 2021. The aim of the assignment was to secure the expected return and to meet the scheduling and quality requirements of the sales planning.

Its expertise ranges from investment management to concept and project development to property operation. Projects include the asset classes of residential, especially micro apartments, offices, hotels and entire neighbourhood developments. Particularly noteworthy are the development of SOHO House and STATION Berlin.
In 2014 – 2017, the project at Frankfurter Tor was developed with the uses of student housing, micro-apartments and co-working spaces on the ground floor. From 2016 to 2017, REELAB was commissioned by KVL Projektmanagement Berlin GmbH to carry out construction and financing controlling. The aim of the assignment was to ensure compliance with the deadlines and quality specifications defined in the project contract.
